37 weeks....

At week 37, your pregnancy is considered full term, meaning baby is likely to thrive after birth. Baby spends these last weeks in preparation for the outside world… meaning careful refinement of the blink, suck, inhale and exhale. Meconium, which you’ll probably find in the first diaper, is accumulating in the intestines. If (okay, as) you worry about giving birth, consider what it’s like for the little one. During the journey out of your womb, baby will produce more stress hormones than any other time in life.

36 week appointment

So I went to my 36 week appointment yesterday and my cervix is closed tight, as in Fort Knox tight. I do not want Jackson to come before he is good and ready but I am so uncomfortable!!! I cannot imagine the weeks to come. Getting up early and coming in to work is getting to be pure torture. I don't feel like picking out something to wear mainly because I have 3 shirts that cover my belly and I have like 4 pairs of work pants and all of them are not nearly as comfy as my sleep pants. I don't feel like putting makeup on or doing my hair....but I have to! Nothing is uglier than a young pregnant Phil Specter (google it, no tan, frizzy hair...yep that would be me without a little primping) in the middle of August....

Anywho...Below are pictures of Jackson's nursery so far...It is not done yet. We still need to put up the wooden letters that spell out his name and a decal above his crib, the valances for the windows that match his crib set and a couple pieces of artwork on the walls on either side of the window that faces the backyard. Ben painted the monkey artwork that is sitting on the dresser. Isn't it cute?

Best moment this week: Finishing the mural on Jackson's wall
Movement: All the time....Jackson has a regular schedule now
Food cravings: Diet Crush and Froot Loops (but I can't eat the Froot Loops)
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: BH only
Belly Button in or out? Completely out
What I miss: Sugar so sweet it will melt your tongue...Brownies with frosting, Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream cupcakes, Boston Creme donuts...OMG I'm drooling!
What I am looking forward to: Birth
Milestones: Getting all the things that worried me this whole pregnancy out of the way....Daycare, pediatrician, nursery, buying all the furniture, etc....

4 weeks to go....

Ok, so today is the 4 week countdown if Jackson is on time. Ummm...WOW! I am starting to get nervous. The thought of Jackson being an outside baby was always a reality but far off in the future. Now it is hitting me that I will have a tiny human being to take care of in a month or so. SCARY!!! I try not to over-analyze because then I become totally overwhelmed.

Our nursery is almost done except for our wooden letters which still have not arrived. We put up our curtains over the weekend and I cleaned out the rest of the junk that was just sitting around. It is hard to know where to put everything. I have a drawer in his dresser that just has miscellaneous stuff in it, still in the package, because I have no clue where to put it. I guess once Jackson's here and I start using those things, I will know what to do with everything???

I am feeling more rested this week and not so exhausted. For the past month, it has seemed that my exhaustion flip-flops every week. Hopefully my energy is here to stay. Ben always tells me I need to get in bed earlier and rest but I feel like I still have so much to do, even though we are pretty much on the home stretch with everything. Oh crap!! I do need to pack my hospital bag still!! Add that to my to-do list for the weekend!

The weather has finally turned into the regular southeastern VA summer that we all know and love (well, hate). The last week and a half has been hot & humid!!! Yesterday the heat index was 106. I guess I shouldn't complain too much...Up until now, it really has been a beautiful summer...Not too hot and not too much rain. I just hope that the warmer weather doesn't last until November now.

Jackson has been kicking the sh*t out of me recently. It's no longer cute but painful! I guess he's as ready as I am to get the show on the road. I know it's getting cramped in there buddy, but you're not fully cooked yet! Hold on just a little longer.

Ok, I think I have rambled enough. I haven't updated in a while so there was a lot of little things I wanted to get down. I hope to have pictures of Jackson's complated nursery soon!!!

I AM SO EXHAUSTED!!!!

I am sleeping, so why am I so tired?? My body and my mind have just given up. It is pure torture to be at work. All I want to do is go home and lay down. I have no energy for anything. It doesn't make it any better that the stupid A/C is constantly broken in my building. The damn thing was built 5 years ago and they have had weekly problems with it since we moved in. Get a clue people!!! I hope to god I get some energy back soon, because I will not be able to deal with getting up and going to work for another 5 (or however many) weeks I have left before my leave.....

34 weeks

I had my 34 week check-up yesterday and Jackson has finally moved himself into the right position for delivery. He is no longer breech! I think he must have turned a few weeks ago because he has been pushing (what we thought was his head) out in the same spot for 2-3 weeks now. Turns out Ben and I have been talking to his booty LOL.
Our travel system & swing will be here today. I'm so excited to get these and put them together!!! I have to work on getting the nursery done this week. We have not put anything up on the walls yet. The stuff has just been sitting in the nursery waiting for us to get moving. We have everything except the letters which I bought on Ebay and will take another 2 or 3 weeks.
